How identity is verified in a matchmaking service: women and men

“Verified profiles” is a phrase that appears in many services, and it does not always mean the same thing. This page explains what an identity check really is, what it is for and what it is not, and how it works at Premium Dating Mexico, both on the women’s side and on the men’s. It covers what we ask of each, when it is asked, what happens to the copy of your ID and a plain clarification about a group of members who did not go through this process.

In short

  • Verifying identity means checking that a person matches their document and that their photos are theirs; it is not a guarantee of character or intentions.
  • Women send an official ID and their own photos, confirm their email and talk with our team before their profile is published.
  • Men verify once, before their first interest or connection; creating the account and paying the membership do not ask for ID, and the copy is deleted after verification.
  • Some members who joined earlier through WhatsApp did not go through the site’s verification, which is why we do not say every member is verified.

01What identity verification is (and is not)

Verifying someone’s identity means checking that the person using a profile is who they say they are. In practice it is done by reviewing an official document, confirming that the details match what the person said and, for profiles with photos, checking that the photos are of her and not of someone else.

It serves to reduce specific risks: fake profiles, photos taken from another person, minors, or people hiding who they are. It has clear limits: it confirms who the person is, but it is not a guarantee of character or intentions, and it does not replace prudence when meeting someone in person.

That is why it is worth asking any service what exactly it verifies, whom it asks, and what it does with the document afterwards. “Verified” without those answers is just a word. For more to ask, we have a list in is a private matchmaking service safe?.

Verifying an identity lowers one specific risk: that someone is somebody else. It does not replace your judgment when you meet them.

02How women are verified

Women go through verification before their profile appears. The process, in order:

  • An official ID. They send a copy of their ID.
  • Their own photos. They send the photos they want to show, and the team checks that they are hers.
  • A confirmed email. They confirm their email address.
  • Age. The team checks that she is over 18.
  • A conversation. We talk with her before publishing her profile.

Registering and appearing in the catalog costs them nothing. And her profile lives in a private area: it is not public and does not appear in search engines, and photos carry a watermark with the member’s name and cannot be downloaded. To learn more about how women come to the service, read who the women in the catalog are.

03How men are verified: once, and later

On the men’s side verification is just as important, but we ask for it at a different moment: later, when it is really needed.

  • Creating the account does not ask for ID. We ask for name, email, phone and password, and that you accept the privacy notice. It is free.
  • Paying the membership does not ask for it either. You can activate it and explore the catalog without sending your document.
  • We ask for it once, before your first contact. When you mark your first “I’m interested” or use your first connection, we take you to verify your identity. Once verified, it is not asked again.
  • Until you are verified, nothing about you reaches a woman. Not your name, not your photo, not your phone number.

The reason is simple: that way everyone in the catalog knows they are talking to a real person. And the timing is meant to respect your time: you can browse calmly and decide to verify when there is already someone who interests you.

04What happens to your ID afterwards

Handing over an ID raises a reasonable question: what is done with it? This is what happens with men’s documents:

  • Only our team sees it. It is not shown to other members or to the women in the catalog.
  • The copy is deleted after verification. Once you are verified, the copy of the document is deleted; if for some reason it is not deleted right away, it is erased 30 days after the decision at the latest.
  • The result is kept, not the image. We keep the result of the verification and the basic data we need to manage your account.
  • The details are in the privacy notice. It explains who processes your data, why and for how long. Read it before you send your document: Privacy Notice.

If you have doubts about any part of the process, message us on WhatsApp before sending anything. Never send your ID over chat to someone you cannot identify.

05A plain clarification about members who came through WhatsApp

Before registration on the site existed, some people joined the service through WhatsApp. Those members did not go through the site’s ID verification, which is why we do not say that every member is verified. What we can say is the following:

  • Women go through verification before appearing in the catalog.
  • Men who register on the site verify once, before their first interest or connection.
  • No process removes risk. That is why we insist on meeting someone in a public place and telling a trusted person; see our guide on safety and trust.

We prefer to explain this difference rather than hide it. If you want to know how the service works from start to finish, or how it compares with other options, read how a private matchmaking service works and message us on WhatsApp from the home page to settle your doubts before you pay, at no cost. You also do not have to decide everything now: you can leave your search in the “tell us what you are looking for” form, which is free.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to send my ID to create the account?

No. Creating the account and activating the membership do not require it. We ask for it once, before your first “I’m interested” or the first time you use a connection. Only our team sees it and the copy is deleted after verification.

Why do you ask for ID if my privacy matters to me?

Because verification protects everyone, you included: the women in the catalog know they are talking to a real person and you know they went through the same process before appearing. You can read how data is handled in the Privacy Notice.

How long do you keep my ID?

The copy is deleted after verification; if it is not deleted right away, it is erased 30 days after the decision at the latest. We keep the result of the verification and the basic data needed to manage your account.

Is every member verified?

We do not say that. Women go through verification before appearing and men who register on the site verify once before their first contact, but some members who joined earlier through WhatsApp did not go through the site’s verification.

Does verifying identity mean the other person is trustworthy?

No. It confirms who the person is, but it does not guarantee character or intentions. A first date in a public place, telling a trusted person and no money between you remain best practice.
