01What discretion means in practice

The word "discretion" shows up in almost every ad for services like this, which is why it says very little. It helps to turn it into concrete questions that anyone can ask before leaving their details.

• Who sees your information. Only the team that runs the service, or also other members, advertisers or third parties? What exactly does a person see when you show interest in them?
• Where profiles live. A public catalog indexed by search engines is not private, whatever it is called. Ask whether profiles sit behind a login and whether they show up on Google.
• What happens to photos. Can they be downloaded? Do they carry any mark that shows who looked at them?
• Who receives your phone number and when. The moment your number leaves the system is the most delicate point of the whole process.
• Which documents they ask for and how long they keep them. An ID is very sensitive information: how long it is kept and who sees it matters as much as the fact that it is requested.

02What Premium Dating Mexico does to protect your privacy

These are the measures the service applies today. We describe them as they work, without dressing them up.

• A private area, not a public page. Profiles live inside the reserved catalog: they are not public and do not appear in search engines or on social media.
• Photos with a personalized watermark. Every photo you see carries a watermark with your name and has no download option. If an image ever circulated outside the service, the mark would show which account it came from.
• Your phone number is not published. It only reaches the person you choose or show interest in; it does not appear on your profile or in any listing.
• What she sees if you show interest. Your name, your age and your photo, inside the private area. Nothing more.
• Your ID is requested once. It is not needed to create the account or to pay, only before your first interest or connection. Only the team sees it, and the copy is deleted after it is verified (30 days after the decision at the latest).
• Nothing about you reaches a woman before you are verified. First we confirm you are who you say you are; only then is your information shared with the person you choose.
• A person on the team, not a faceless form. You can message us on WhatsApp before registering and someone on the team answers. We do not promise a response time, but we do promise it is a person.

On her side the same principle applies: women send an ID and their own photos, the team talks to each one before publishing her profile, and her profile is not public either. Discretion has to work both ways for anyone to feel comfortable taking part.

03What you can do on your side

A service's discretion ends where your phone begins. A good part depends on small decisions of yours, and almost all of them are free and take a few minutes.

• Review your WhatsApp privacy. In settings you can decide who sees your profile photo, your status and your "last seen". If you do not want a new contact to see your photo, make it visible only to saved contacts.
• Turn off message previews on the lock screen. That way a notification does not show the content of a message if someone sees your phone on a table.
• Use an email you control. If you share a computer or your main email is synced with other people, open a separate one for this purpose.
• Do not share screenshots. Not of the catalog and not of your conversations. A screenshot is out of any service's control, and if it carries your watermark, the mark is yours.
• Never send your ID by direct message to anyone. If a service needs it, it should ask inside its own system and explain what it does with it. Nobody you meet over chat should ask for it.

04The real limits of any service

A serious service also tells you where its possibilities end. These are the limits worth having clear, here and anywhere else.

• A watermark deters, it is not an absolute barrier. It stops someone from using a photo without consequences, but it cannot prevent someone from taking a picture of a screen with another phone.
• What the other person does is outside the service. When you show interest, someone else sees your name, age and photo. You trust their judgment, just as she trusts yours.
• What you share over WhatsApp is no longer in the service. If two people keep talking on their own, that conversation depends on them.
• Data is handled with rules, not magic. There is a privacy notice, deletion periods and a small team; that lowers risk, but no system can promise zero risk.
• Some older members may have joined through WhatsApp. That is why we do not say that everyone is verified with a document: we say that women are verified before they appear and that men who register on the site are verified once before their first contact.

Putting it this way may sound less reassuring than "100% safe", but it is more useful: it lets you decide with full information, which is what treating an adult discreetly means.

05What to ask before you register with any service

This list works for ours and for any other. If something is unclear, write before creating the account; a service that takes privacy seriously answers without any fuss.

• Do profiles appear in search engines or only behind a login?
• What exactly does the person I show interest in see?
• When does my phone number leave the system and who gets it?
• Which documents do you ask for, who sees them and when are they deleted?
• Can I talk to a person before paying or leaving my details?
• Where is the privacy notice and is it clear?
